The word ‘FRIEND-SHIP’ justifies its meaning within itself i-e., Sailing on the ship of life with friends with lots of ups and downs without giving up on each other. Friendship is an unconditional connection between hearts that is tested at every moment of life because the ship of life or the boat you are traveling in isn’t necessarily a bed of roses. But whenever it is, it will surely carry the thorns alongside. It’s like a priceless invisible blessing that cannot be sold even at the cost of diamonds. If you put conditions in it, then it is no longer a friendship-“It would be a “Friends with benefits or a business” then!

Let’s have a look into the movies, which carries the deep message inside concerned with friendship.

1. Veere Di Wedding

Why should boys have all the fun??? Yes, you heard it right. The movie holds the emphasis on the female friendship centric approach. It highlights the points hitting directly to the heart pressing on the gang of 4 girls with different characters facing varied issues and ultimately coming all together to fight their worries by sharing their eternal bond with open heart communication by talking about each other bullshit’s, sex lives and life drama!

Be it Kareena, Sonam, or Shikha and Swara– everybody just nailed in their respective roles by giving a tight slap to all-male friendship centric films.

2. Saand Ki Aankh

“So you have crossed your 30’s still acting like you’re in you’re in your 20’s?” Oh, people! We are super grand-mothers of this century, lively and bold. This is what the movie is all about. It emphasizes hardly on the emotions of grandmothers friendship big group gang who doesn’t give a shit about the inner killing blindfolded rules and norms of the rural orthodox societies like getting married without seeing husband’s face, getting melted in Ghoonghat throughout day and night, who doesn’t run behind their husbands for their survival.

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have completely justified their roles like a cherry on the cake, followed by a friend Prakash Jha and Vineet Tomar. The two female characters have focused entirely on liberating their lives and making a way to sit, act, and talk their own way such that their coming generations have not to go through the same trouble. They indeed helped other village women to get confident in whatever and however, they are!

3. Aisha

An extremely important message and a soul meaning of friendship have been conveyed via this movie. Be it, Sonam Kapoor, as Aisha or Ira Dubey as Pinky, they literally made the moving worth seeing. Their personal struggles and devils sitting on their head never let the spark of their friendship fade away. They throw an important insight into the friendship.

We may fall, we may feel low at times, we may make up ourselves-“in short whatever life shows up to us, real friends always has our back- to hold us”. Once a heart connection is established, it will last forever.

4. Cocktail

“Lust, love, friendship, and emotions”; all-in-one package shown between three friends. The movie is exciting, funky, and full of thrill. Two girls- Deepika Padukone as Veronica is somebody who every guy wants to spend life with and Diana Penty is shown as an innocent character shifted in a new city to meet her husband. Saif Ali Khan as a flirtatious boy who flirts with every next girl. Despite so much of difference in their behaviours, they end up falling for each other. A strong sense of friendship is shown with freedom. Whatever they do, is with their heart.

5. English Vinglish

The movie not only talks about a real struggle to learn the English language but also about her sentiments and a pressure on her head to meet her children and husband. This language has been shown as a real connection to reach the heart of her family and hence the struggle starts.

A real friendship bond has been shown between Sashi played by Sridevi and her niece Radha played by Priya Anand. When Sashi planned her trip to New York, Radha supported her as a best friend to help her learn English.

The best scene of their friendship was seen at the wedding of Radha’s sister when she gave the speech in English and used the work judgemental-something that Radha taught her during her whole journey of learning English. Listening to her speech, Radha threw a sweet smile at her, eyes watered with the feeling of pride and face glowed with the shine of happiness.
