We bet you are crying buckets after witnessing the epic romance and cute chemistry shared by Vikrant Massey and Harleen Sethi as Veer and Sameera in Broken But Beautiful Season 2. You have probably OD-ed on their amazing camaraderie that one just cannot have enough of already. Isn’t that the goal, to hit right in the feels? The content on OTT platforms in India is, probably, in one of the most wonderful phases. But, of course, the best is yet to arrive. ZEE5 Originals including Rangbaaz, Abhay, and several more series, which enjoy such widespread popularity that the audience just cannot wait for the next season to be released. Well, the good news is that Rangbaaz is returning to your screens soon, alongwith another story in an all-new season titled Rangbaaz Phirse.
Before we go on to discuss Rangbaaz Phirse, let’s take a moment to appreciate just how much Veer and Sameera tug at our heartstrings. To begin with, Broken But Beautiful was a first-of-its-kind drama that addressed a breakup so deeply. The viewers related to Veer and Sameera, who lost their respective partners in the first season and were struggling to cope up with the split. If season one taught us that it’s okay to be broken, Broken But Beautiful Season 2 urged us to find the beauty in the missing parts. Directed by Harsh Dedhia, the series is all about what kicks in once the ‘happily ever after’ begins. Binge-watch the episodes on ZEE5 right now if you haven’t!
Rangbaaz, set in Uttar Pradesh, was about a notorious gangster Shiv Prakash Shukla. After the phenomenal success of the first season of ZEE5’s most talked about franchise Rangbaaz, on popular demand from the fans, season two was planned. The backdrop changes to Rajasthan in Rangbaaz Phirse, with Jimmy Sheirgill headlining it as Amarpal Singh. The nine-episode series will be another fast-paced crime thriller, with Gul Panag playing the lead, Sharad Kelkar as the antagonist Raja Phogat and Zeeshan Ayub and Sushant Singh in key roles. “The script of Rangbaaz season 2 is gritty and action-packed. It is a challenging role inspired by a true story,” Sheirgill revealed in an earlier interview. Mark your calendars and keep the popcorn buckets ready, Rangbaaz Phirse starts streaming on ZEE5 from 10 December 2019.
A special mention goes to Jamai 2.0, a web series that took forward the story of Siddharth and Roshni from the Zee TV show Jamai Raja. Not only did the romantic thriller enjoy a humongous success, but our fans also haven’t stopped writing to us about the next season. So much so that on their demand, Rubaru, the original soundtrack of Jamai 2.0 was made into a music video featuring Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma. Seen the video yet?
The fact that Indian web series are being renewed for another season proves that there is huge demand for the content in the web world. And it only goes to show that India is headed in the right direction! As for ZEE5, with the aim of reaching 15 million daily active users by next year, and having deployed 100,000 hours of content already, it has definitely upped its game for the Indian OTT market.
